About Our Church
Leon Springs Baptist Church is a growing multigenerational SBC church in northwest San Antonio area, with approximately 300 people attending. We are a healthy church executing an intentional transition plan. Our purpose is knowing Jesus and making Him known. We seek to live out that purpose through worship, encouragement, biblical teaching, equipping believers for ministry, and sharing the gospel. We are prayerfully seeking a Senior Pastor who will love our church family, faithfully teach God's Word, and help us grow in spiritual maturity and effective ministry to our community. The Pastor We Seek
We seek a man whose life reflects the biblical qualifications of a pastor in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. He should demonstrate:
A growing relationship with Jesus Christ, a consistent prayer life, and integrity in his personal and public life.
Faithful, clear biblical preaching that helps people understand Scripture and apply it.
A shepherd's heart, with genuine care for people across generations.
A commitment to evangelism, discipleship, missions, and developing ministry leaders.
The ability to lead collaboratively with pastoral staff and the Pastoral Leadership Team, welcoming counsel and building unity.
Agreement with the church's adopted doctrinal statement, constitution, and bylaws.
Primary Responsibilities
The Senior Pastor will lead the church's preaching and teaching ministry, provide spiritual and pastoral leadership, equip members for ministry, and guide the church in fulfilling its mission. He will work with the pastoral staff and Pastoral Leadership Team to strengthen church health, develop leaders, and encourage faithful stewardship of the church's resources.
Qualifications and Compensation
Previous pastoral ministry and leadership experience are required. Relevant theological education is preferred. Compensation and benefits will be discussed with qualified candidates based on experience, responsibilities, and the church's approved compensation framework.
