The Senior Payroll Systems Analyst is responsible for development, implementation, and maintenance of payroll systems activities associated with employee information, retrieval capabilities, and reports at Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH). Will work with Payroll and Human Resources Information System (HRIS), medical center personnel, vendors, and/or internal information systems staff to design new or modify existing payroll information systems to meet changing requirements. Key to understanding the documenting capabilities needed to address business challenges. Responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, and technological risks. Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related experience.
Must have a general, effective understanding of payroll wage and tax laws.
Minimum of 6 years of experience with HRMS/Payroll system configuration and functionality, including areas like time tracking and self-service applications. This experience must include demonstrated proficiency with Workday.
Minimum of 10 or more years of experience including documentation, design, change management, cost estimation, project management, testing, production support, and auditing.
Minimum of 10 or more years of report writing experience.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of technological/automation theories, principles, and best practices.
Ability to multitask in a demanding environment, good organizational and communication skills, managing complex multidisciplinary initiatives to improve processes.
Requires ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users, management and non-management customers.
Expert in SQL.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.
