Job description
Responsibilities
The Sr Cardiovascular Perfusionist oversees the operation, maintenance and application of circulation technology applications, providing age-appropriate care to patients of all ages. This includes, but is not limited to, cardiopulmonary bypass, autologous blood recovery/blood conservation, ventricular support, left heart conterpulsation, myocardial preservation, anticoagulation and hematologic monitoring/analysis, physiologic monitoring/analysis, blood gas and chemistry monitoring/analysis, induction of hypothermia/hyperthermia with reversal, hemodilution, hemofiltration, organ preservation, surgical assisting, as well as administration of medications, blood components, and anesthetic agents via the extracorporeal circuit and any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
One year of experience as a Cardiovascular Perfusionist
Bachelor Degree
Certified Clinical Perfusionist within one year
Desired
Three years of experience as a Cardiovascular Perfusionist
Bachelor Degree
Certificate of completion from CAAHEP accredited program in circulation technology
