Senior Physician Assistant - Urgent Care and Emergency
Location: Sacramento, CA area (worksite in Roseville and Folsom, CA)
Shift/Schedule: Full-time, onsite, various schedules including days, evenings, and weekends
Pay/Compensation: $175,200 – $264,800 per year

A leading regional healthcare provider known for patient-centric care is hiring Senior Physician Assistants for its urgent care and emergency services. These clinicians evaluate and treat a broad range of acute illnesses and injuries as part of a physician-led team. The organization offers strong compensation, several schedule options, and the resources of a large integrated health system.
The ideal candidate is a confident, procedurally skilled physician assistant who thrives in a fast-paced urgent care or emergency setting. You make sound clinical decisions, communicate warmly with patients, and work well within a collaborative physician-led team. You are comfortable managing a high patient volume while keeping quality and safety at the center of every visit. You value continuous learning and bring a steady presence to the care team during the busiest shifts.

Core Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute illnesses and injuries
Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies
Perform procedures such as laceration repair, splinting, and incision and drainage
Develop treatment plans and prescribe medications within scope of practice
Coordinate with physicians and specialists for escalation and admissions
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and follow-up care
Document visits accurately and promptly in the electronic health record
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
Current NCCPA certification
Active California Physician Assistant license, or eligibility before start
Current DEA registration, BLS, and ACLS certifications
Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or acute care
Flexibility to work rotating schedules including weekends
Preferred Qualifications
Several years of emergency department experience
PALS certification
Experience with procedural skills in a high-volume setting
Epic electronic health record experience
Experience within a large integrated health system
