Job description

Are you ready to play a key role in delivering complex infrastructure and energy projects that support a more reliable and resilient power grid? As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing project schedules across the full project lifecycle, from engineering and procurement through construction and commissioning. Working closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, construction professionals, and stakeholders, you will transform project data into meaningful insights that drive performance, improve visibility, and support informed planning. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale Grid Automation projects, helping teams anticipate risks, manage change, and maintain alignment on critical milestones. How You'll Make an Impact

Develop, maintain, and optimize detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and related planning tools.

Coordinate planning activities across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.

Perform earned value performance tracking and forecasting to support project execution.

Integrate schedule and cost information to provide accurate project performance reporting.

Identify schedule risks, constraints, and opportunities, and recommend mitigation actions.

Partner with cross-functional project teams to gather progress data and maintain schedule accuracy.

Prepare dashboards, reports, and executive summaries for project leadership and stakeholders.

Support change management activities and claims assessments through time impact evaluations.

Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

8 to 10 years of experience in project planning and project controls.

Proficiency with Primavera P6 for schedule development and management.

Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Deltek Acumen.

Knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM), Earned Value Analysis (EVA), and schedule risk assessment practices.

Experience managing schedules for large, complex projects throughout multiple execution phases.

Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

Experience presenting project updates, performance metrics, and planning insights to stakeholders.
