Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Platform Software Engineer to build backend services, APIs, internal tooling, and automation that support large-scale infrastructure environments.
This is a software-first role focused on Python, Kubernetes, platform engineering, and infrastructure automation . The ideal candidate has strong development fundamentals and can build production-quality software that improves reliability, scalability, observability, and self-service infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Build backend services, APIs, internal tools, and automation platforms.
Develop production-quality software using Python or similar backend languages.
Build tooling across Kubernetes and containerized environments.
Automate provisioning, configuration, lifecycle management, and operational workflows.
Build monitoring, observability, and reliability capabilities.
Troubleshoot issues across software, Kubernetes, infrastructure, and network-adjacent systems.
Partner with Platform, Infrastructure, Security, and Network teams.
Reduce manual operations through scalable automation and self-service tooling.
Required Qualifications
Strong software engineering background building backend services, APIs, internal tools, or automation.
Strong Python development skills or experience with another modern backend language.
Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, version control, and code review.
Experience building infrastructure or platform automation.
Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, Jinja2, or similar technologies.
Experience integrating systems through APIs or event-driven workflows.
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, routing, load balancing, and firewalls.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
HPC, AI infrastructure, cloud, data center, or high-availability environments.
Internal developer platforms or platform engineering tools.
Network automation involving Cisco, Arista, or Juniper.
BGP, OSPF, VRF, VLAN, EVPN, or VXLAN exposure.
Secrets management, policy-as-code, and platform security.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a software engineer first with strong Python and Kubernetes experience who enjoys building scalable tooling and automation for complex infrastructure environments.
