About SovAI: SovAI, Inc. is The AI Factory Architect. We design, build, and operate sovereign AI compute campuses powered behind the meter, built on three pillars: Sovereign Fuel, Sovereign Power, and Sovereign Compute. We deliver dedicated AI capacity for enterprises, communities, and nations, with first revenue in approximately twelve months from project start. We are an early-stage, well-backed company headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, operating remote-first across the United States. This is the ground floor of the defining industrial buildout of this generation.
The role: You own the electrical backbone of our AI factory campuses: behind-the-meter generation plants from single-line diagram through commissioning, including reciprocating engine fleets, medium-voltage distribution, DC bus architectures, and paralleling and protection, all engineered as one system with storage and compute.
What you'll do:
Develop and stamp-coordinate single-line diagrams, load flows, protection coordination, and arc-flash studies for multi-megawatt BTM plants
Specify and evaluate generation packages (natural gas and dual-fuel reciprocating fleets), switchgear, transformers, and paralleling controls
Lead interconnection-avoidance design: islanded and grid-parallel BTM topologies, 800 VDC distribution to compute, and power quality for GPU load steps
Support commissioning, acceptance testing, and first-power milestones on site
What you bring:
PE (electrical) or a clear path to licensure
8+ years in power generation, microgrids, or heavy industrial electrical design
Hands-on experience with reciprocating engine plants, MV switchgear, protective relaying (SEL or equivalent), and paralleling systems
Fluency in ETAP/SKM or equivalent, and comfort being the senior electrical voice in front of EPCs and AHJs
Nice to have: Data-center electrical experience, experience with high-density DC distribution, locomotive or marine engine platforms
