Raytheon’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Principal Systems Engineer, Hardware Tech Lead to support radar capability development. This is your opportunity to work with cutting-edge radar technology, leveraging your expertise in Linux operating systems, hands-on experience with system hardware and software in test lab environments, and exceptional troubleshooting skills to solve complex technical challenges. What You Will Do

Assist in planning, executing, and documenting system integration and test activities for a radar program in a laboratory environment.

Perform hands-on testing and integration of hardware and software, with a focus on systems running Linux-based operating environments.

Mentor and guide junior engineers with troubleshooting and hardware integration activities.

Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues related to software, hardware, and operating systems.

Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to identify and address technical challenges including, hardware/HWIL deliveries and material coordination.

Develop and execute detailed test plans, procedures, and reports in accordance with program requirements.

Support system-level test readiness reviews, test execution, and post-test analysis.

Ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and program-specific processes.

Willingness to support 10% domestic and international travel.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.

Experience with Red Hat Linux.

Experience with configuring hardware setups, installing software, troubleshooting hardware/software/electronics (standalone and networked), and/or interfacing with network routers/switches/firewalls within an engineering facility.

Experience with technical and/or functional leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with test equipment and tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and data acquisition systems.

Experience working with X-Band radar systems.

Knowledge of electronic hardware configuration and installation, software installations on hardware devices, network configurations, operations of software in String/HWIL facility,

Knowledge of RF systems, radar signal processing, and real-time systems.

Practical knowledge of system security concepts and tools in Linux environments.

Relocation Eligible – Relocation assistance available

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
