Job description

Senior Product Designer

At Roon, our work began on the patient side. Our team has shipped apps for more than 40 health conditions serving millions of people worldwide. This experience showed us how powerful the right digital tools can be for improving care. It also revealed how much physicians need better support in their own workflows and professional lives. Roon is now building the digital home for physicians - a trusted community platform where doctors connect, collaborate, and advance clinical knowledge together. Our team combines deep expertise in tech and health with support from world-class investors including Firstmark, Forerunner, Sequoia, TMV, and SV Angel.

We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to join Roon's growing design team in New York City. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of a physician network built around trust, expertise, and meaningful human connection. Our current design team includes experienced design leadership, with advisory support from leaders who have helped shape world-class consumer products, including Pinterest. We care deeply about craft, speed, curiosity, and building products that people genuinely want to use every day.

Who You Are

Experienced: 5-10+ years of consumer product design experience

Product design: You're exceptional at designing all aspects of an online consumer platform including core screens, actions, content creation, onboarding, settings, etc.

Interaction design: You're able to invent and prototype beautiful, simple interactions for relatively complex product mechanics

Visual design: You have an eye for aesthetic design and detail in product design

AI Tooling: Proficiency with AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency and integrate AI into user features, particularly using Figma Make for prototyping and AI assistants for research and ideation

Traits We Admire

Boundless Curiosity: You love to learn. You have a thirst for knowledge and constantly seek to expand your understanding of the world. Your curiosity spans a wide range of topics, with a special passion for all things at the intersection of healthcare and technology.

Genuine Care: You bring authentic care to everything you do, valuing each individual's unique journey. You understand the profound impact that empathy and thoughtful attention can have on people's lives.

Joyful Excellence: Striving for excellence in your craft fuels you. You hold a high bar for yourself and what you work on but do so in a way that inspires others and brings joy to the process.

Original Thinking: You dig beneath the surface, setting aside trendy thinking to arrive at insights and perspectives rooted in first principles. Your approach brings new, creative perspectives to solving problems.

What You'll Do

Prototype Creation: Design and develop prototypes that bring ideas to life quickly. You should be comfortable creating both low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity designs, iterating based on feedback. Facility with Figma, Claude & other AI tooling a must.

User-Centered Design: Be empathetic and deeply understand the needs of our users, translating their pain points into elegant and effective design solutions.

Ship Fast: Ability to move quickly and efficiently from ideation to execution. You should be familiar with rapid design and testing cycles, able to deliver impactful designs on tight timelines.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, doctors and other stakeholders to ensure design vision aligns with business goals. Be a strong advocate for the user experience throughout the development process.

End-to-End Design: Take ownership of the entire design process, from initial sketches and prototypes to final UI and hand-off to engineering.

Feedback Integration: Embrace feedback, testing, and iteration as core parts of your process, always aiming to refine and improve the product.

Time Commitment & Compensation

At Roon, we're committed to creating long-term growth opportunities within the company. Pay will be competitive and will vary based on credentials. We will offer equity as part of our compensation package. This is a full-time role.
