Job description

Intro

At MO, we challenge the status quo and help government leaders shape the future. We engineer scalable, human-centered solutions that help agencies deliver their mission faster and better. Our teams blend product, design, AI, data, and modern software practices to modernize legacy systems, build new digital platforms, and deliver mission-ready products that drive sustainable change.

We live by our values—Integrity, Excellence, Courage and Curiosity. They guide how we build, collaborate, and lead. From cloud infrastructure and data engineering to AI integration and service design, we connect technology and experience to deliver outcomes that scale.

We’re building a company where technologists, designers, and builders can serve the mission, grow their craft, and help shape the future of digital government. At MO, your work doesn’t just make a difference, it advances the mission and helps build a more capable, trusted, and human government.

Overview

Looking to make an impact? We’re seeking a Senior Product Manager to support our client in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Through your product thinking, prioritization, and delivery expertise, you’ll help shape technology decisions for the VA that will impact millions of Veterans.

At MO you’ll collaborate with service designers, data scientists, and engineers to understand customer and user problems, define MVPs and mature solution iterations, lead implementation efforts, and develop adoption and change management plans to ensure success.

How will you spend your time? 85% of your time will be dedicated to billable contract work, with the remaining 15% focused on growing our product practice at MO, contributing to our culture, and supporting business development.

How will you be expected to use AI? We believe AI is fundamentally changing how we build solutions and drive outcomes for our clients. We thoughtfully leverage AI tools to accelerate discovery, improve decision-making, reduce manual work, and produce higher-quality deliverables. We value curiosity, experimentation, and a willingness to continuously evolve how we work as AI capabilities advance.

What makes a successful candidate? If you have experience driving solution life cycles from proof of concept to roadmapping and execution, and have a proven track record of fostering strong relationships between clients and cross-functional teams, we’d love to hear from you.

This role is remote.

What You'll Do

Partner with stakeholders to translate their vision into reality through prioritization, roadmapping, and requirements development

Lead and direct a cross-functional team of designers, data scientists, and engineers to deliver iteratively and incrementally

Balance business needs, user needs, and technical capabilities to deliver solutions that result in meaningful impact and outcomes

Proactively identify and manage risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs and communicate with internal stakeholders and leadership to ensure operational support for delivery

Set outcomes-driven success metrics and measure the impact of the work to guide future iterations and strategic decisions

Facilitate effective product strategy methods and agile ceremonies

Enable continuous solution feedback loop based on qualitative and quantitative data from clients, customers, and end-users

Communicate effectively with clients to ensure continuous alignment of team priorities

Engage relevant parties across the government ecosystem to collaboratively problem solve issues that impact our ability to deliver desired outcomes

Leverage AI tools to accelerate discovery, documentation, and experimentation, and to strengthen analysis, communication, and decision-making.

Identify opportunities to automate repetitive work and improve team efficiency through responsible use of AI.

What You'll Bring

3 - 8+ years of product management experience in a relevant industry (for example software development, government technology, or civic technology)

Strong product thinking skills — taking a structured approach to moving from ambiguous problems to impactful solutions

Client relationship management and customer success skills

A design thinker and lean product thinker (e.g., hypothesis and experimentation driven approach to MVP definition); delivering using plays from design thinking including research, facilitating workshops, and enabling decision-making with clients

An outcome-oriented approach focused on delivering value to end users and clients backed by measurable, data-driven results

Experience aligning cross-functional teams and stakeholders around goals

Experience turning business requirements and user research findings into clear, succinct epics and user stories

Experience working in cross-functional teams using agile methodologies

The ability to set expectations, remove blockers, and hold the team accountable to deliver on contractual and client expectations

A desire to seek different perspectives, and ask for help when needed

Experience with accessibility and human-centered design

Ability to manage a team through change
