Job Description - Senior Product Manager - Fraud and Abuse Detection - Payment Integrity - Remote )

Senior Product Manager - Fraud and Abuse Detection - Payment Integrity - Remote -

Optum Insight is improving the flow of health data and information to create a more connected system. We remove friction and drive alignment between care providers and payers, and ultimately consumers. Our deep expertise in the industry and innovative technology empower us to help organizations reduce costs while improving risk management, quality and revenue growth. Ready to help us deliver results that improve lives? Join us to start Caring. Connecting. Growing together.

The Senior Product Manager is a strategic product leader responsible for defining and executing the product strategy for one of Optum Payment Integrity’s Intelligent Fraud Detection products. This role offers the opportunity to take an early-stage product from pilot to scale, shaping the product strategy, commercialization path, and broader market launch.

Optum Payment Integrity helps health plans and healthcare organizations ensure claims are paid accurately and fairly, reducing unnecessary medical spend across the full claim lifecycle through a combination of advanced analytics, AI, and deep healthcare reimbursement expertise. You will own the product vision, roadmap, and performance ensuring the product delivers measurable client value, scales effectively, and remains differentiated in the market.

Why this role

Build it, don't inherit it. This is a genuine pilot-to-scale opportunity. The decisions you make on strategy, packaging, and go-to-market won't refine an existing playbook - they'll write it

Fight fraud at industry scale. You'll apply data science, network analytics, and machine learning to uncover emerging fraud patterns and turn them into detection capabilities and workflows that protect payers and the healthcare system

Own the full arc - pilot to market. Few product roles let one leader shape a product from early proof through commercialization and scale. You'll have that end-to-end mandate, working alongside senior leaders across product, engineering, data science, and go-to-market

This is a high-impact role for a strategic product leader who thrives at the intersection of data, technology, and market opportunity, and who is equally adept at setting vision and driving execution.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

Define the Market Vision and Product Strategy

Craft and champion a clear product vision and multi-year product strategy

Translate market needs, payer feedback, and competitive intelligence into actionable product direction

Align product investments to deliver customer value, revenue growth, and market differentiation

Partner with other Product Managers in the portfolio to ensure product decisions support both scalability and client success

Shape the product strategy for using data science, AI, and network analytics to uncover emerging fraud patterns and drive new fraud detection capabilities & workflows for clients

Lead Product Development and Execution

Translate strategy into actionable roadmaps, well-defined requirements, and prioritized outcomes

Collaborate with engineering, AI/ML, analytics, and operations to deliver data-driven solutions that improve accuracy, efficiency, and user experience

Drive prioritization, balancing innovation, technical debt reduction, and operational scalability

Ensure product launches are timely, high-quality, and aligned to go-to-market goals

Measure and Optimize Product Performance

Define and monitor KPIs tied to adoption, financial performance, and client outcomes

Partner with analytics and finance teams to evaluate product ROI and inform future investments

Use data and user feedback to continuously refine strategy, features, and market positioning

Collaborate to Drive Market Growth

Partner with go-to-market, sales, and marketing teams to drive product adoption and expansion across payer clients

Support pricing, packaging, and positioning in collaboration with the Director of Product and GTM leadership

Identify and scale client-proven innovations to the broader market

Stay Ahead of Market and Industry Trends

Monitor market, regulatory, and competitive shifts to identify emerging opportunities and risks

Translate evolving market dynamics into forward-looking roadmap updates

At Optum, product leaders are builders and connectors - translating complex healthcare challenges into scalable, data-driven solutions that improve affordability and trust in the healthcare system. You will collaborate closely with other Product Managers and cross-functional teams to advance a unified roadmap and shared vision for building AI-powered solutions that transform healthcare payment integrity.
