Job description

The Senior Product Manager for Pro Messaging plays a critical role within the Job Connection and Completion team at Angi. This team is dedicated to helping more Homeowners progress their home projects from inception to completion whilst simultaneously helping Service Professionals win more business. We do this through a relentless focus on intuitive, empowering product experiences that remove friction and promote momentum at every step of the job journey, from finding and connecting with potential pros to leaving a review.

About the role

As the Senior Product Manager for Pro Messaging, you will shape the evolution of the tools available to Service Professionals to help them quickly and confidently connect with homeowners about their home service needs. You will build a deep understanding of the pain points Service Professionals (small and large) face when connecting with and nurturing prospective customers, and will define and implement a roadmap that finds innovative solutions to these very real problems. While your bread and butter will be Services Professionals, you will also partner closely with Homeowner-facing teams to create seamless product experiences that benefit both parties and create robust back-and-forth conversations that progress jobs forward.

In this role, you will encounter engaging problem sets that:

Span multiple platforms (web and app) and channels of communication (email, SMS, native messaging, phone calls)

Come with opportunities to capitalize on natural language learning, and are strategically significant to Angi’s future vision

What you’ll do

Develop a deep and nuanced understanding of the challenges faced by Service Professionals in connecting with homeowners and winning jobs by partnering with design and user research to conduct user interviews, develop quantitative surveys, etc

Collect and analyze quantitative data to uncover thoughtful insights and hypotheses

Develop and maintain a product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements based on customer needs, market trends, and business objectives

Helm a cross-functional project team that regularly ships quality work at a high velocity

Analyze and interpret tracked user behaviors and results from A/B testing to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform your roadmap

Work as part of a larger collective of teams to collaboratively create seamless user journeys that extend across platforms (web and app), users (Service Professionals and Homeowners), communication modalities (native messaging, SMS, email, push, etc), and sessions

Stay close to similar product initiatives and common technologies being developed across Angi to ensure that your team’s work is informed by scalability and shared applications across the organization

Stay up-to-date and have a point of view on approaches to cutting edge communication, including how to leverage AI and ML models to solve relevant Service Professional messaging problems in intuitive and scalable ways.

Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and customer-centricity within the Product Management team, ensuring that user feedback, problems, and needs are at the core of our product development process.

Who you are

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical area of study or equivalent education and experience.

5+ years of experience in consumer software product management, ideally with experience in multi-sided marketplaces, messaging, communication, and/or artificial intelligence (large language models, automation, etc).

Highly collaborative: You work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Design, Research, Analytics, Product Marketing, and Support, to deliver innovative solutions with measurable business and user impact.

Biased for action: You are an accelerator, consistently solving problems, creating focus, and removing barriers to drive learning and progress every single week. You make good decisions with incomplete data and are constantly optimizing for learning.

Customer obsessed: You put customers first in every decision and ensure the people around you do the same. You interact with customers regularly, going beyond anecdotes to immerse yourself in the customer experience. You know when to add countervailing customer metrics to business ones and have the courage to push back on decisions that aren't customer-oriented.

Data-fluent: you use data to solve problems, identify opportunities, and measure impact. You have strong analytical skills and are largely self-sufficient with tools like Looker, Adobe Analytics and Snowflake

A bar raiser: you inspire others to bring their A-game and are constantly looking for opportunities for improvement. You don’t accept things “because that is the way we’ve always done it.”

An influencer: You are able to bring people from different functions together, align them around a goal, and get them excited about achieving it

An amazing communicator: You can tell a compelling story, you can make the complex simple, you communicate clearly and concisely and can tailor your message to your audience

Execution is in your nature: you routinely deploy your strong project management skills and have a demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

We value diversity

We know that the best ideas come from teams where diverse points of view uncover new solutions to hard problems. We welcome and value individuals who bring diverse life experiences, educational backgrounds, cultures, and work experiences.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary band for this position ranges from $140,000 - $190,000 commensurate with experience and performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as cost of living.

This position will be eligible for a competitive year end performance bonus & equity package.

Full medical, dental, vision package to fit your needs

Flexible vacation policy; work hard and take time when you need it

Discount plans & retirement plan with company match (401K)

The rare opportunity to work with sharp, motivated teammates solving some of the most unique challenges and changing the world
