Our client, an award-winning commercial general contractor, is looking to add a Senior Project Accountant to its growing team. This family-owned company has a strong reputation throughout Southern California and has high employee retention.
The Senior Project Accountant will work closely with the Controller and Operations team, overseeing accounting and billing for large-scale construction projects. This is a great opportunity to join a growing company with room for advancement.
RESPONSIBLITIES
Oversee project accounting and billing for large-scale commercial construction projects.
Manage owner billings, including GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price) and Cost Plus contracts.
Track project costs, budgets, commitments, change orders and cost-to-complete forecasts.
Manage subcontractor and owner retainage, including partial releases and reconciliations.
Partner closely with Project Managers and Operations to ensure accurate project financial reporting and timely billing.
Monitor project accounting activity and assist with month-end close and reconciliations.
Identify opportunities to streamline billing procedures, improve reporting and strengthen coordination between Accounting and Operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of project accounting experience with a commercial general contractor.
Experience supporting large-scale commercial construction projects.
Proficiency with Procore strongly preferred; experience with Sage is a plus.
Solid understanding of job costing, construction billing and project financial reporting.
