InfraSource seeks aSenior Project Accountant to join the team at our company headquarters inSumner, WA.
nTheSenior Project Accountantrecognizes revenue and reviews complex invoices and billings in accordance with accounting principles and contract terms. They are an experienced member of our project accounting team, performing high level analysis and budget oversight. This role reviews project budgets before job set-up, monitors estimated-cost-to-complete (ETC) for risk and overruns, performs job-level margin and variance analysis, and serves as a go-to resource for the rest of the project accounting and project management teams. nThe hourly pay rate for this role is $38.00-$43.00/hour based on experience.
nWhat You'll Do
nResponsibilities:
nnnAnalyze proposed project budgets prior to job set-up and advise on the appropriate accounting structure and methods
n
nnMonitor estimated-cost-to-complete (ETC) on active projects to identify budget overruns and potential margin risk, and initiate and follow through on resulting action items
n
nnPerform job-level margin and variance analysis, partnering with Project Managers to explain and resolve discrepancies
n
nnCollaborate with Project Managers on complex accounting scenarios, including job set-up methodology and non-standard billing situations
n
nnServe as a resource for cost report questions and coding issues, providing guidance to Project Managers and other project accounting staff
n
nnRecognize revenue and issue a wide range of invoices/billings, from standard to complex, in accordance with GAAP revenue recognition standards and contract terms
n
nnEnsure reconciliations and supporting schedules for assigned projects are completed timely and in accordance with customer and internal requirements
n
nnAnalyze and present weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual financial results to management and support operations in making informed decisions
n
nnLead special projects such as process improvements, reporting enhancements, mass data optimization, and SOP creation
n
nnTrain and mentor Project Accountants and Project Billing Specialists, and lead internal training sessions for the Project Management and Operations teams on relevant Project Accounting processes
n
nnAssist with forecasting and related management reporting
n
nnEvaluate accounting and internal control processes and ensure control requirements are met
n
nnRetrieve and organize supporting documentation for internal and external audits
n
nnCreate journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
n
nnProactively pursue relevant learning opportunities offered internally
n
nnOther tasks as assigned

n nWhat You'll Bring
nMinimum Qualifications:
nnnBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education
n
nnMinimum of 5 years related project/revenue accounting experience.
n
nnStrong working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including revenue recognition
n
nnAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
n
nnDemonstrated experience within an integrated accounting/ERP system, including project or job costing
n
nnExperience training or mentoring team members
n
nnAbility to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines with minimal oversight
n
n nPreferred Qualifications:
nnnExperience using JD Edwards.
n
nnExperience in a utility, contract utility, or construction company.
n
nnPrior experience in a lead or senior project accounting role

nThe anticipated compensation for this position is USD $38.00/Hr. - USD $43.00/Hr. depending on experience and qualifications.
