About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Project Engineer with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering to lead key projects from inception to completion in Welkom . This role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage complex engineering initiatives effectively. You will be responsible for the overall success of mechanical projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a critical position within the engineering department, driving innovation and operational efficiency in the Free State province.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, execution, and finalization of mechanical engineering projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
Manage project teams, ensuring effective communication, coordination, and performance.
Oversee technical aspects of projects, including design reviews, risk assessments, and quality control.
Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
Requirements
BEng or MEng in Mechanical Engineering.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in project engineering and management within the mechanical engineering sector.
Proven track record of successfully managing complex, large-scale mechanical projects.
In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project).
Strong understanding of engineering principles, regulations, and best practices.
Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
