About this role
Samsara is hiring a Senior Security Engineer - Threat Detection (Remote - California, US). This is an Engineering role listed on the official Samsara careers site.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and operate the signals, pipelines, and tooling that power how Samsara discovers threats against the company and its customers
Develop and validate detections using detection-as-code practices, Git-based workflows, automated testing, and CI/CD
Onboard data into SIEM platforms and build advanced queries, dashboards, and threat intelligence enrichment
Analyze large datasets to tune detections and reduce noise
Requirements:
6+ years in security engineering, detection engineering, or a related technology discipline
Strong Python and SQL skills, with experience analyzing large datasets to build and validate detections
Hands-on experience with detection-as-code, Git-based workflows, automated testing, and CI/CD deployment
Deep experience with modern SIEM platforms, including data onboarding, advanced queries, dashboards, and threat intelligence enrichment
Working knowledge of AWS, Linux, containers, and EDR
Salary: $157,675–$238,500 per year
