About the Position
We’re looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our fully remote team. You’ll work alongside a small team of thoughtful, highly skilled engineers building SaaS products that help ensure exam integrity for tens of millions of students and educators worldwide.
This is a broad, hands-on software engineering role where you'll contribute across our entire technology stack. You'll build features spanning backend services, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and web interfaces, collaborating closely with our Principal Software Engineer and fellow developers to deliver reliable, high-quality software. Our platform operates at a significant scale and sits at the intersection of performance, security, and trust, so the work is both technically challenging and highly impactful.
We’re a team that jumps in wherever needed—no task is too big or too small. If you take pride in building reliable systems, care about the details, and want your work to directly support fair and secure learning environments, you’ll fit right in.
We keep things collaborative and low-ego. Titles don’t carry much weight here—ideas and execution do. We hold a high bar for quality and accountability, and we support each other in reaching it.
What You’ll Bring
7+ years of experience building and shipping production-quality software
Strong backend development experience, with the ability to design scalable, secure services and APIs
Solid front-end skills and a focus on creating clean, intuitive user experiences
Comfortable working in established codebases while seeing opportunities for the next generation of systems
Experience working with cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS, and building systems that are reliable, observable, and scalable
An understanding of security best practices and designing systems where trust, integrity, and data protection are of critical importance
Comfort working across the stack and moving between different parts of a system as needed
Experience with relational databases and thoughtful data modeling
Experience using AI tools as aids during design, development, review and maintenance of complex systems
Familiarity with Linux-based environments and modern development workflows
A strong foundation in computer science and software design principles
A track record of owning meaningful pieces of software—from initial design through deployment and iteration
The ability to thrive in a small, agile team and balance multiple priorities
Nice to Have
Experience building or operating high-scale SaaS platforms
Deeper experience designing and scaling systems in AWS
Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks and tooling
Experience with video, monitoring, or real-time systems
Mobile development experience
Experience working on remote or distributed teams
Cloud certifications (AWS or similar)
