Salt Lake City, UT; San Francisco, CA; or Remote Full-time Engineering

About Nova Music

We're building Nova Music to give independent music teachers one place to run their studios. Nova brings scheduling, attendance, billing, family communication, lesson records, student portals, and practice into one connected experience.

We talk with our customers daily. Their feedback, along with how they use the product, shapes what we build.

Our goal is to reduce the administrative work teachers carry, make things clearer for families, and create a better experience for students between lessons.

The role

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer, iOS to lead the continued development of Nova's native app for teachers, students, and families.

You'll build in Swift and SwiftUI, work with Nova's Supabase backend, and own important mobile experiences including schedules, communication, notifications, account access, and subscriptions.

You'll shape iOS architecture and product quality while collaborating closely with the web engineers who own Nova's shared backend and product contracts.

What you'll do

Design and ship native iOS experiences for music teachers, students, and families.

Build maintainable SwiftUI features that feel at home on iPhone and iPad.

Own mobile architecture, state management, networking, authentication, and local persistence.

Develop reliable StoreKit subscription, push-notification, and deep-link workflows.

Work with web engineers on Supabase APIs, shared data models, permissions, and backend behavior.

Improve automated tests, accessibility, performance, crash prevention, and release confidence.

Manage the technical work required for TestFlight and App Store releases.

Use customer feedback and mobile product data to guide improvements after launch.

Improve the instructions, tools, and safeguards that make AI-assisted iOS development more effective.

What success looks like

More teachers use the iOS app as a regular part of running their studios.

Students and families can complete important tasks easily from their phones.

The app gains meaningful capabilities while remaining stable, fast, and accessible.

Mobile subscriptions, authentication, notifications, and shared data stay reliable.

Important workflows behave consistently across iOS and the web product.

App releases become easier to test, review, and ship with confidence.

Mobile-related support issues and avoidable crashes decline.

What we're looking for

You have 2-5 years of professional iOS development experience and have shipped production apps.

You're strong in Swift, SwiftUI, structured concurrency, and Apple platform conventions.

You've built API-backed applications with authentication, local state, and resilient networking.

You understand mobile accessibility, performance, testing, and release management.

You've worked with StoreKit, push notifications, deep links, or similarly sensitive platform capabilities.

You can make architecture decisions while staying focused on the customer experience.

You collaborate well across product, design, and backend engineering.

You use AI coding agents for substantial production work and know how to validate their output.

Experience with education, scheduling, communication, or subscription products is especially useful.
