Senior Software Engineer — C++ / Python

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to support theU.S. Air Force Distributed Mission Operations Center (DMOC) at Kirtland AFB.
You’ll design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain mission-critical software and backend services while supporting web applications, automation, CI/CD, and secure software development in a DoD environment.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and enhance software using C++ and Python .
Support applications in Linux and Windows environments.
Develop backend services, web applications, and SQL database functionality.
Build automation using Bash and maintain Git/GitLab repositories.
Develop and support GitLab CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
Troubleshoot software issues and implement improvements.
Support software deployment, configuration, and technical documentation.
Ensure development activities comply with applicable DoD security requirements .

Qualifications
Active DoD Secret clearance — required
U.S. Citizenship — required
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field; equivalent qualifying certifications may be considered.
Relevant experience: Bachelor’s: 9+ years
Master’s: 7+ years
PhD: 4+ years
DoD 8570 IAT-II certification (CompTIA Security+ or higher) required within 60 days of hire.
