Our client is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer (Python, AWS, Workflow Orchestration) to help build and scale a workflow orchestration platform for a rapidly growing organization undergoing a large-scale digital transformation initiative. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on developing reliable, production-grade software and workflow automation solutions within a modern cloud environment.

Duration
3-Month Contract with Strong Possibility of Extension
Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or backend application development.
Strong commercial experience building applications and services in Python.
Experience designing, implementing, and supporting production workflow orchestration platforms.
Hands-on experience with Prefect or similar workflow orchestration technologies.
Experience deploying and operating cloud-native applications within AWS environments.
Strong SQL skills and experience working with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or comparable technologies.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, observability, and production support practices.Experience integrating systems through APIs, distributed services, and data pipelines.
Strong software engineering fundamentals including testing, version control, and code review practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, DBT, event-driven architectures, or modern cloud data platforms.
Additional Information
Hybrid role based in Naperville, IL.
Must be authorized to work in the United States. No visa sponsorship available.
Title may be flexible based on experience (e.g., Senior Platform Engineer, Lead Platform Engineer, Staff Platform Engineer, Senior Cloud Engineer).
