Senior Backend Engineer
Location: New York, NY
Overview
We are a technology-driven organization operating at the intersection offinancial services and digital assets , building infrastructure that supports institutional-grade platforms. Our team focuses on developing secure, scalable systems that power the management, movement, and growth of both fiat and digital assets.
We are looking for aSenior Backend Engineer to join a New York-based engineering team responsible for building and maintaining systems that support custody, staking, and asset management workflows within a high-performance, cloud-native environment.
What You’ll Do
Design and architect scalable backend services on acloud-native platform , with a focus on automation, reliability, and security
Build and enhance systems responsible fortransaction processing and asset inventory management
Develop and maintainstaking and workflow management systems for digital assets
Collaborate cross-functionally with teams supporting trading, lending, settlement, frontend applications, and infrastructure
Contribute to system design decisions and help shape architecture for high-throughput, low-latency environments
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment and production support
What We’re Looking For
7+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong foundation incomputer science fundamentals and system design
Proven experience designing and building scalable backend systems
Expertise in one or more of the following:Java, Scala, Kotlin, C#, or similar (Java preferred)
Deep understanding ofobject-oriented programming principles
Experience working across the full development lifecycle, including agile environments and production systems
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership over system quality and performance
Nice to Have
Experience withmessaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
Familiarity withcontainerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience withcloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Background infinancial services, fintech, or digital assets
Understanding ofasynchronous or reactive programming models
Familiarity withevent-driven architectures and domain-driven design
Knowledge ofconcurrency and multi-threading concepts , particularly in Java
