As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design and deliver scalable software solutions that support our transportation and logistics platforms. This AI-native product engineering role requires strong technical judgment, modern engineering practices, and ownership to turn ambiguous business problems into production solutions quickly, safely, and with fewer handoffs.
Our Team
We are the KBX Managed Freight Engineering team, focused on transforming freight management with innovative, AI-powered software solutions. Working closely with product, engineering, and business partners, we build and support scalable applications for shipment tracking, exception management, and carrier connectivity. Our collaborative, cross-functional team embraces modern engineering practices and empowers each member to take ownership and deliver meaningful business results.
What You Will Do
Use AI-assisted and agentic engineering practices across discovery, design, coding, testing, documentation, and support whilemaintainingaccountability for solution quality, security, and supportability
Collaborate directly with Product Managers, Product Owners, Technical Leads, and business stakeholders to clarify problems and requests, challenge assumptions, evaluate tradeoffs, and deliver valuable business outcomes
Design, develop, andmaintainscalable full-stack software applications and services, writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code across backend and user-facing components
Design and implement complex backend services, APIs, integrations, core system components, and user-facing application features
Participate in architecture discussions, technology strategy, technical decision-making, code reviews, and technical design discussions to ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to software engineers while helping resolve complex technical challenges
Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and observability
Support andmaintainexisting applications by troubleshooting and resolving production issues
Document code, technical designs, architectural decisions, and engineering processes
Share reusable patterns, lessons, and practices that improve engineering speed and quality across team
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
ExperienceleveragingAI-powered development tools and solutions, including LLMs and agentic systems, while ensuring generated outputs meet standards for quality, security, maintainability, and business value
Experience designing, developing, andmaintainingsoftware applications using .NET and related application frameworks
Experience on backend services, APIs, integrations, data access patterns, and user-facing application features
Experience developing user-facing application features using modern front-end frameworks or technologies
Experience designing and developing APIs, integrations, service-oriented solutions,andtranslating business requirements into technical solutions
Experience supporting applications through the full software development lifecycle
Experience collaborating with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver software solutions from discovery to production
Experience delivering software through small, cross-functional teams with broad individual ownership and accountability for outcomes
Experience leading technical activities including code reviews, complex designs, architecture discussions, and troubleshooting
Experience mentoring orprovidingtechnical guidance to other engineers
What Will Put You Ahead
Experience incorporating AI capabilities into enterprise software solutions
Experience working on large software development teams delivering enterprise-scale applications
Experience in transportation,logistics, supply chain, fleet management, or related industries
Experience using modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
Experience designing and implementing microservices and distributed systems
Experience with cloud-native development, containerization, and DevOps practices
Experience with test strategy, test planning, and automated testing frameworks
Experience improving system observability, monitoring, and operational excellence
Experience with relational and document databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB
