Talent Fund Select Partners is partnering with a well-established regional CPA and advisory firm to identify an experienced R&D Tax Credit Manager / Senior Manager.
This is much more than a traditional delivery role.
The R&D Tax Credit practice has been built from the ground up and has reached the point where continued growth requires another experienced R&D professional who can take meaningful ownership of client delivery, help develop the team, and play a role in shaping how the practice operates as it scales.
For someone who has spent several years executing R&D studies within a larger organization or specialty consulting environment, this is an opportunity to have considerably more influence over the practice itself. The person joining will have a real voice in evolving processes, procedures, staffing, client delivery models, and the broader growth of the practice.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Managing R&D tax credit studies from beginning to end
Leading client interviews and, when appropriate, facility and site visits
Managing quantitative analysis and supporting data
Developing and reviewing technical documentation and qualitative narratives
Translating complex R&D tax concepts into practical language for business owners, CFOs, tax leaders, engineers, and technical teams
Training and developing junior professionals, including team members who may not have previous R&D experience
Helping establish and improve procedures as the practice continues to scale
Participating in decisions around engagement scope, delivery approach, staffing, and client service
Developing strong client relationships and becoming a trusted advisor rather than simply a technical resource

Approximately 4-6+ years of dedicated R&D tax credit experience
Experience managing an R&D study through the full lifecycle
Strength across both sides of the work: quantitative analysis and data, as well as qualitative interviews and technical documentation
The ability to operate independently and take ownership of engagements
Strong client-facing communication skills
The ability to train and develop less-experienced professionals
A practical and flexible approach to R&D consulting, particularly with privately held and middle-market organizations
