Location: Tempe, AZ | Schedule: Full-time, on-site | Compensation: $140,000-$175,000 base salary
Overview
A growing CPA firm in the East Valley is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join its leadership team. This role works closely with Tax Partners and Senior Managers, offering a clear path toward Partner-level growth for the right candidate.
What you'll do
Supervise and mentor a small team of tax professionals
Review and sign federal and multi-state tax returns for C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts, Individuals, and Tax-Exempt Organizations
Manage multiple client priorities and deadlines
Build and maintain trusted client relationships through proactive service
Research and resolve complex technical tax issues
Communicate directly with clients on tax matters
Stay current with evolving tax law and industry changes
Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting required
CPA designation required
10+ years of tax experience in public accounting
At least 3 years in a supervisory role
Direct responsibility for reviewing and signing federal and multi-state tax returns
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a passion for developing others
High level of technical tax knowledge with ability to research and resolve complex issues
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with tax law and industry changes
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to adapt to new technologies
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including direct client communications
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Preferred qualifications
Master's degree in Tax a plus
Experience with CCH Axcess and ProSystems Engagement preferred
Compensation and benefits
Base salary of $140,000-$175,000
