About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Telecoms Operations Manager to oversee their operational activities in Paarl . This hybrid role involves managing the day-to‑day operations of the company's telecommunications network, ensuring maximum uptime and service quality. You will lead a team of operational staff, responsible for network monitoring, incident management, and service delivery. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in managing complex operational environments within the telecoms industry , excellent leadership skills, and a strategic approach to optimizing network performance and efficiency. This role requires a balance of strategic oversight and hands‑on management.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and lead the telecoms operations team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Oversee the daily operations of the telecommunications network, including monitoring, incident response, and problem management.
Develop and implement operational procedures and best practices to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Manage vendor relationships and ensure the performance and delivery of outsourced services.
Drive initiatives for network optimization, capacity planning, and cost reduction within the operations department.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for network operations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in telecoms operations management , with a focus on network infrastructure.
Proven leadership experience managing technical teams in a demanding operational environment.
Strong understanding of network technologies, service assurance, and operational support systems (OSS).
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic planning abilities.
Experience with ITIL frameworks and methodologies is highly desirable.
