Job description
Location: Fremont, CA or Austin, TX (onsite)
A global medical technology company is building an advanced robotics platform for orthopaedic surgery, combining real-time imaging and visualisation to improve outcomes for patients. As the platform scales, they're looking for a Senior Software Developer to help shape the architecture behind its imaging and visualisation systems.
What you'll do:
Design and develop scalable, high-performance software modules integrating MITK, VTK and OpenGL on Linux
Contribute to the overall software architecture of a C++/Qt-based medical imaging platform
Lead design and architecture reviews, guiding technical decisions and best practice
Work closely with R&D, Product, QA and UX to align architecture with product goals
Identify and mitigate architectural risk, keeping the system robust and maintainable
Bring emerging techniques and technologies into the product roadmap
What you'll bring:
Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant software development experience (or equivalent)
Advanced C++ using modern standards and best practice
Deep experience with Qt (GUI, multithreading, signals/slots, custom widgets)
Hands-on experience with VTK and MITK
Strong understanding of OpenGL for real-time rendering
Comfortable developing and deploying on Linux
Familiarity with CI/CD and Git (preferred)
