About the Opportunity
A rapidly growing, private equity-backed home services organization is seeking a Service Manager to lead field operations for a high-volume branch. The company operates across multiple states and service lines, serving residential and commercial customers through a network of established brands.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing technicians, driving daily execution, maintaining service quality, and ensuring operational and financial performance. The position offers significant growth potential for leaders interested in advancing into Branch Management.
What You'll Do
Lead & Develop Teams
Hire, train, coach, and develop field technicians
Conduct performance reviews and manage employee performance
Drive accountability, engagement, and team culture
Ensure team members maintain required certifications and licenses
Identify training needs through ride-alongs, audits, and field observations
Manage Daily Operations
Oversee scheduling, routing, workforce planning, and capacity management
Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards
Monitor productivity, labor utilization, and service delivery
Manage equipment, vehicles, materials, and supplies
Resolve customer issues and service concerns
Drive Financial Performance
Manage department budgets, labor costs, and operational expenses
Monitor KPIs and productivity metrics
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
Support revenue growth through strong operational execution
Provide Field Leadership
Support technicians in the field as needed
Conduct quality inspections and performance audits
Ensure compliance with safety, licensing, and regulatory requirements
Implement best practices and process improvements
What We're Looking For
3+ years of leadership experience managing technicians or field employees
Experience in lawn care, landscaping, pest control, tree care, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, facilities services, distribution, or another field-service environment
Strong background in scheduling, routing, workforce planning, and daily operations
Experience hiring, onboarding, training, and developing employees
Proven ability to manage productivity, labor, quality, and customer satisfaction
Comfortable using systems, reporting, and KPIs to drive performance
Strong communication and leadership skills
Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
Preferred Qualifications
Prior budget or P&L responsibility
Applicator license, pesticide certification, or similar industry credentials
