nJob Title: Porter Department: Service Reports To: Parts and Service Director, Asst. Service Manager. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
nJob Summary:
nThe Porter is responsible for the safe movement of customer vehicles. Cleaning the vehicles. Assisting Service staff as needed.
nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
n· Move vehicles to and from service lanes, parking areas, and other dealership locations.
n· Clean vehicles inside and out, which includes vacuuming, washing, and ensuring that the cars are presentable for customers.
n· May also perform light maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels.
n· Keep the lot and service areas clean, safe, and well-organized.
n· Dispose of debris and maintain general dealership cleanliness.
n· Other job duties as assigned.
nQualifications:
nEducation and Experience
nValid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
nHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.
nSkills:
nAbility to work independently and follow verbal or written instructions.
nBasic communication and organizational skills.
nAbility to drive a manual transmission is a plus.
nWork Environment:
nMust be able to work outdoors in various weather condition
nFast-paced dealership setting
n· Frequent walking, lifting, and moving of vehicles.
nFLSA Status Clarification:
nThis position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 in a workweek. The employee is entitled to meal and rest breaks in accordance with applicable state and federal labor laws.
