Job description

Purpose of Position : Under the supervision of the Shop Foreman, the Service Technician is responsible for performing maintenance on trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company guidelines.
Supervises : N/A
Essential Job Functions :
* Diagnoses and repairs various truck systems.
* Ensures that repairs are completed in a complete and accurate manner as per supervisor instructions.
* Maintains correct time punches and work order processes.
* Maintains efficiency standards and attendance policy required.
* Tags all parts required to follow warranty procedure.
* Keeps customer vehicle clean during repair process and after repairs are complete.
* Keeps work area clean and free of debris.
* Follows safety procedures.
Required Skills/ Abilities :
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
* Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
* Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Preferred Education :
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
* Technical training education
Preferred Experience :
* One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Preferred Qualifications :
* CDL License
* ASE certification a plus
* Freightliner certification
