They are able to solve most non-routine process problems. The associate at this level has a greater awareness of the overall business and is able to recognize the need for and escalate process improvements to standard work that reduce cost and/or improve quality and delivery. They may interact with associates in other functional areas and can oversee and assist with department development.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupport production objectives by:Performing set-up related dutiesTroubleshooting production problems relating to equipment, tooling, and processesSupporting of company philosophies, systems, and policies through actions and words.Performing all the duties of a JLG level 4 or higher operator for a specific department.Setting up equipment to standard work.Training and educating operators. Assisting with the assessment, implementation, and documentation of associate and departmental development plans and competency progress plans.Offering ideas and looking for improvement of processes.Advanced troubleshooting of production problems relating to equipment, tooling, and processesBeing the subject matter expert in regards to the technical and mechanical portion of machining.Driving to obtain and reduce setup target objectivesFacilitating Shift Start up and departmental meetingsAssisting in the development of new processes and/or standard workDriving changes to reduce cost and improve department metricsPerforming, training and assisting in preventative maintenance on equipment and tooling as needed. Can identify and repair many machine malfunctions without guidance.Accurately completing records in maintenance management system.Identifying and correcting machining problems relative to tools and tool holders, collets and chucks.Ability to identify and rectify mechanical equipment malfunctions.Self-motivatedDemonstrates proficient machining, communication, and troubleshooting.Education and/or Work Experience RequirementsRequired:High school diploma or equivalentAdvanced knowledge about the products, processes and equipmentPreferred:Advanced technical training or equivalentCritical CompetenciesCustomer FocusReliability and IntegrityFlexibilityTeamworkCommunicationAccountabilityWorking Conditions and/or Physical RequirementsAbility to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift kegs and boxes on a regular basis between 25 - 35 pounds and occasionally between 35 - 50 pounds. Considerable standing, stooping and bending is required.
