Sewing InspectorJOB LOCATION Arhaus Upholstery – Conover, NCWEEKLY HOURS Monday – Friday 6a – 3:30p Overtime as neededDEPARTMENT SewingREPORTS TO Sewing SupervisorPOSITION DETAILSJOB PURPOSE Inspect finished sewing projects to ensure a quality product was produced.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform visual inspection of finished product to ensure:½ " seamsStitches are straightEnsure there are no skipped stitchesEnsure piece is sewn to specificationsEnsure there are no holes or flaws in the Fabric / LeatherMeasure Welt for correct length using a rulerOther duties as assigned by ManagerWORKING CONDITIONS Heated and cooled furniture manufacturing plant with concrete floors.SUPERVISION RECEIVED MinimumSUPERVISION EXERCISED NoneDIRECT REPORTS NoneQUALIFICATIONSMINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Manufacturing Experience.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Experience in furniture manufacturing,MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Less than High SchoolPREFERRED EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or EquivalentREQUIRED SKILLSPHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS • Must be able to read a ruler. • Strong communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills, including ability to describe and convey nonconformance issues is required. • Strict attention to detail is a must. • Must be a Team Player with a positive attitude. • Must be able to work with minimum supervision. • Must have your own reliable transportation. • Must be able to stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours a day. • Must be able to work Weekends and Overtime. • Must be reliable. • Must have strong English language skills, including: o Reading o Comprehending o Speaking o Writing o Communication Must be able to wear required safety PPE such as Safety Glasses and closed-toe/closed-heel shoes. Must be able to adhere to all Safety policies and procedures to prevent injuries to yourself and others.
