Sewing Machine Operator III- ASHAsheville Facility - Asheville, NC 28806OverviewSalary Range $16.00 - $18.00 Hourly Level Experienced Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education Level High School Category ManufacturingDescriptionSewing Machine Operator III- ASHReports to: Sr. Sewing SupervisorSupervises: N/ASummary Statement: The person in this position operates various machines used in industrial sewing following established work and safety procedures.Essential Job FunctionsCheck all safety devices, assuring they are in place and in working order prior to operating the machine.Prior to sewing, inspect and repair any operations incorrectly done, including unacceptable stiches on materials provided to you.Thread machine and change bobbin as needed.Retrieve/distribute materials as needed.Operate various automatic machines which may include:Single needle operationsDouble needle operationsTwo-step automatic machinesBartack operationsSerger operationsNon-Essential Job FunctionsAttend training and meetings as scheduled.Perform other duties as apparent or assigned.QualificationsWorking ConditionsMust be able to sit for extended periods of time.Skills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesMust be able to follow verbal instructions.Must have the dexterity to operate various industrial sewing machines.Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.Must consistently meet production and quality standards of a Level III operator.Must consistently exceed production and quality standards of a Level II operator.Education and Work ExperiencePrior experience operating single and double needle machinesConsistently meet production and quality standards of a Level II operator.ISO 5.3 Organizational Roles, Responsibilities and AuthoritiesIFB employees have the responsibility and authority to ensure to produce first quality products that meet our customer requirements.EEO StatementIn compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
