Sewing Machine Operator IV- ASHAsheville Facility - Asheville, NC 28806Level: Experienced Position Type: Full Time Job Shift: Day Education Level: High School Category: ManufacturingDescriptionSewing Machine Operator IV - AshevilleReports to: Sr. Sewing SupervisorSupervises: N/ASummary Statement: The person in this position operates various machines used in industrial sewing following established work and safety procedures.Essential Job FunctionsCheck all safety devices, assuring they are in place and in working order prior to operating the machine.Prior to sewing, inspect and repair any operations incorrectly done, including unacceptable stitches, on materials provided to you.Thread machine and change bobbin as needed.Retrieve/distribute materials as needed.Operate various machines, completing the most difficult operations within the product line in which you are working.Non-Essential Job FunctionsAttend training and meetings as scheduled.Perform other duties as apparent or assigned.QualificationsWorking ConditionsMust be able to sit for extended periods of time.Skills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesMust be able to follow verbal instructions.Must have the dexterity to operate various industrial sewing machines.Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.Must consistently meet production and quality standards of a Level IV operator.Must consistently exceed production and quality standards of a Level III operator.Education and Work ExperiencePrior experience performing difficult sewing functions using an industrial sewing machine.Consistently meet production and quality standards of a Level III operator.ISO 5.3 Organizational Roles, Responsibilities and AuthoritiesIFB employees have the responsibility and authority to ensure to produce first quality products that meet our customer requirements.EEO StatementIn compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
