Horton, Inc. has an opening for a Shipper II to work at our location in Westminster, SC . This job is onsite Monday-Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, with ocassional overtime needed.

Position Information:

Responsible for accurate and safe execution of Material handling duties. Moves material between process areas and stock storage areas. Fills orders from stock and prepares products for shipment by packaging, attaching proper labels and completing shipping documents. Loads or unloads trucks using material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

Shipper Responsibilities:

* Using information from pick lists, gathers parts in the proper quantities for shipments.

1.1 Monitors back order lists and fills back orders as first priority in order to satisfy customer demand and avoid excess congestion in the manufacturing process.

1.2 Visually inspects parts in the process of handling them, sorting out any which are identified as defective.

1.3 Checks part numbers, and other identifying features in order to be certain that the correct parts are selected.

* Fills shipping orders.

2.1 Sorts orders by ship date priority and determines the day of the week to ship orders.

2.2 Pulls goods from inventory and assembles and packs orders for shipping, following standard packaging procedures, making certain that all types and quantities of materials are correct.

2.3 Labels orders correctly and attaches shipping documents and applies postage.

2.4 Prepares batches of orders for daily UPS/Fed-Ex pickup.

2.5 Prepares larger orders for delivery by common carrier by assembling goods and palletizing orders, wrapping them with plastic material. Uses material handling equipment to move pallets of material to staging areas and then loads trucks, making sure weight and volume are distributed properly to avoid shifting, damage to packaging or overweight axles.

2.6 Confirms shipment by entering order numbers and pertinent data on the Oracle system, recording all quantities taken from stock and all quantities returned to stock in order to maintain accurate inventory.

* Performs other duties of a similar nature when caught up with orders. Specific examples include assisting stocking shelves, re-stocking returned goods.

* Provides training in work methods, procedures, and work instructions to other employees and temporay workers.

Qualifications

Shipper Qualifications:

* Requires a high school diploma, or equivalent (GED).

* Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a shipping role or closely related position.

* Must be authorized to work in the United States. No Visa sponsorship provided now or in the future for this position.
