To learn more, please visit our website at Summary: Operates strapping station, forklift, and relieves operators in the production of tagged, counted, and strapped units of board. Offloads units from the strapper out feed conveyor and stages in designated area. Trains new and replacement employees and participates in safety programs.Principal Duties & Responsibilities:Assists in inspecting strapping station for proper operation daily.Assists in the operation of strapper to secure strapping around units of finished panels and monitors continuously (while operating), conformance to standards relative to:Prints unit tag out of Shop Floor SystemSkid placementStrap tensionUnit taggingPiece count in unitsDamage to unitsAdjustment of bundles on conveyors and rollsPaint stationNotifies and assists Finishing Operator where deficiencies are noted so the problem can be corrected by:Straightening crooked boards on saw lineClearing jammed stickersFeeding saw line with takeout materialChecking grade stamp on boardsCleaning paint stationMoves freight, stock, raw materials, finished goods, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles by hand and a variety of mobile equipment and various types and sizes of forklifts.Regrades damaged boards and bundles identifies by the Quality Assurance Technician in regrade area.Replaces boards in unit bundles after Quality Assurance Technician takes samples and replaces unit in storage.Protects the safety of Company personnel, contractors, and visitors by maintaining a safe and clean working environment through compliance with procedures, rules and regulations.Maintains customer confidence by routinely inspecting condition of manufactured material. Is familiar with product specifications. Understands company inspection and release processes. Detects and reports defective material and/or questionable conditions to Finishing Operator and/or Supervisor.Ensures proper operation of paint booth to ensure finished bundles are properly edge sealed. Cleans spray nozzles and paint booth and notifies Supervisor and/or Maintenance personnel when problems arise. May assist in preventative maintenance on maintenance day.Achieves work objectives by reading, interpreting, and applying complex written documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions and standard operating procedures.Performs general physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs, moving whole body and multilimbed coordination.Performs other duties as may be assigned.Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills:High School Diploma or GED0 to 3 Years Manufacturing ExperienceForklift experience preferredMust be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays per shift scheduleHuber Engineered Woods is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, protected veteran status, non-disqualifying physical or mental disability, national origin, genetic information, or any other basis covered by appropriate law.
