This position will also be responsible for loading, unloading and moving materials within or near the plant, yard or work site.To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.Follows all EHS rules and regulationsSafely loads and unloads materials onto form pallets, trays, racks and shelves.Compares identifying information and counts of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.Records receipt of incoming materials and equipmentEnsures materials are separated and stored in the appropriate locations or binsDocuments and enters inventory information into the computer systemReads and interprets work orders in order to ascertain which materials to pullMoves materials from storage location to work site in accordance with the work orderPerforms cycle counting and physical inventoriesUses steel cutters, crowbar, clawhammer or other hand tools to open containers.The following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.Minimum QualificationsExperience in forklift operationsAbility to develop and maintain positive working relationships and teamworkAbility to operate equipment used in handling of materialsAbility to follow oral and written instructionAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, steel toed boots, goggles, ear plugs, glovesProficient in computer software applications, including Word, Excel, OutlookAbility to communicate and collaborate professionally, both verbally and in writing, at all levelsAbility to organize and prioritize projects and information with accuracy, under tight timeframes, to meet organizational needsPreferred QualificationsMaterials or warehouse experienceTwo + years' work experience as a material handler in an industrial settingProficient with the American Association of Railroads (AAR) and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) industry and customer requirementsWork Environment and Physical RequirementsWork EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
