Job description
Warehouse AssociateKey Accountabilities / Primary Duties And ResponsibilitiesReceive, unload, and help verify incoming and outgoing shipments following established warehouse proceduresAssist with preparing, reviewing, and filing shipping and receiving paperwork accurately and on timeCheck product quantities and visible condition against packing slips, bills of lading, and delivery documentsEnter and maintain basic shipping, receiving, and inventory records as requiredCommunicate respectfully with drivers, carriers, customers, and team members regarding deliveries and pickupsFollow assigned work instructions to meet daily accuracy and productivity expectationsProvide courteous assistance to customers, drivers, and visitors as neededHelp monitor dock schedules and update dock boards under supervisor guidanceSupport onboarding of new associates by sharing standard shipping and receiving practicesFollow facility security procedures, including access control, and reporting unusual activityPerform work safely and report unsafe conditions or incidents to a supervisor promptlyKeep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards in line with housekeeping standardsFollow food safety and quality guidelines relevant to daily job dutiesReport food safety or quality concerns to appropriate personnel when observedPerform other tasks as assigned by managementQualifications / Capability ProfileMinimum EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalentMinimum Qualifications / SkillsStrong organizational and record-keeping skillsBasic computer skills and ability to learn shipping/warehouse systemsEffective verbal and written communication skillsGood interpersonal skills and ability to work well with othersAbility to identify, locate, handle, and distribute product accuratelyAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environmentAbility to follow established work procedures and safety rulesAbility to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructionsAbility to work assigned shifts and scheduled hoursWorking Conditions / Physical RequirementsAbility to push/pull, load/unload, and lift or move equipment and product weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance throughout the shiftAbility to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time, often up to 8–10 hours per shiftAbility to climb stairs or ladders safelyAbility to use hands and fingers to handle paperwork, scanners, labels, small parts, and computer equipmentMay use a manual pallet jack and may operate a forklift once certifiedMust wear required PPE (gloves, hairnets, safety glasses, ear protection, masks, appropriate footwear)Work may involve exposure to cold, heat, humidity, noise, moving mechanical parts, food ingredients and cleaning chemicalsMust be able to work overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts as neededMSI Express is an equal opportunity employer.
