Job description
Shipping Clerk – 1st ShiftThe Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing product for shipment in a timely and efficient manner.Duties/Responsibilities:Perform counting, packing, and labeling to meet customer specificationsVerify all product is labeled and packaged completely and correctlyLocate parts either in the shipping department and or on the production floor, along with requesting parts to be inspected if necessary.Process parts for shipment, to be sent to outside service or to be put into inventoryAbide by all R&L Spring policies and procedures as stated in the Employee Handbook and safety standards and requirements.Follow R&L Quality Workmanship Guidelines.Required Skills/Abilities:Basic computer skills.Must be able to read and follow written work instructionsAble to use and operate scanning devices.Verify product meets order requirements.Verify all product is labeled and packaged completely and correctly.Ability to drive a forklift. (Possibly a standup model)Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.Flexible to perform all duties associated with the Shipping Department.Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area.Education and Experience:High school diploma, GED or equivalent.Preferred manufacturing experienceBasic computer knowledgePhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
