Job description
Shipping CoordinatorThe Shipping Coordinator supports the overnight shipping operation by coordinating short-chasing efforts, resolving inventory shortages, and ensuring orders are accurately completed and loaded on time. This role works closely with warehouse teams and leadership to improve operational efficiency, maintain inventory accuracy, and support a safe and productive distribution operation.ResponsibilitiesCommunication Must possess strong written and oral communication abilities; responsible for communicating with frontline employees and giving direction where appropriate, interacting with managerial staffAbility to work with people of diverse backgrounds, understand quality control conceptsProcess Improvement Should be detail-oriented problem-solvers with critical thinking and time management skills and can work effectively both independently and in teamsUtilization of tools designed to help track rejects, out of stocks, and inventory tracking of DMW&H and OSROperational Excellence Should be familiar with night shipping operations, including tower picking, automated storage and retrieval, waving and sortation systems and loadingUnderstands and can work adeptly within software interfaces for WMS, ASRS, WCS and case shipping systemsCan quickly identify shorted cases to reprint labels and locate alternate storage areas for lost inventoryMust have strong Microsoft office skillsResults Orientation Business acumen and understanding of customer and large sku base operationsQualificationsA relevant high school degree or equivalent3-5 years of experience within a warehouse or distribution environmentExperience in automated warehouse preferredFunctional system understanding Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPointAbility to work non-traditional business hours including evenings, nights and weekends when requiredStrong Communication skills – verbal, presentation, writingCompensation and BenefitsThe anticipated starting salary for this role is $23 per hour to $25 per hour depending on qualifications such as experience, education, and skillset.
