Job description
Shipping CoordinatorThe Shipping Coordinator is responsible for efficiently loading and unloading trucks using various equipment such as fork trucks, forklifts, manual lifts, dollies, and skids. This role requires verifying information against bills of lading, making wood crates for shipments, and processing transactions in the computer system. Additionally, the coordinator will communicate essential information to the supervisor and adhere to all health and safety regulations, including 5S responsibilities.ResponsibilitiesPrepare work orders for packaging and process shipments, confirming work orders in the ERP system to maintain accurate inventory.Maintain the shipping area through regular organization, cleaning, and cataloging of items.Schedule large shipments and plan logistics to meet customer demand, including international and local shipments.Close out work orders when required.Contact customers via email or phone to obtain shipment-related information.Contact third-party logistics companies to schedule shipments.Utilize shipping carrier software systems such as UPS, Federal Express, DHL, and others to generate appropriate shipment documentation.Generate packing lists, shipping labels, bar code labels, bills of lading, and any other required packaging documentation.Essential Skills1-2 years of experience as an inventory control specialist or a similar position.Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to perform math calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Intermediate computer skills.Prior experience with Oracle or similar ERP program preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with cutting saws and nail guns.Experience in customer service and preparing shipments.Understanding of warehouse inventory and cycle counts.Why Work Here?Our company values a supportive work culture that emphasizes health and safety. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
