Job description
Job TitleGeneral DutiesExamine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests; invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.Record shipment data, such as weigh, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.Deliver or route materials to departments using cart, pallet jack, dolly, and or forklift.Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.Compute amounts, such as space available, shipping, storage, or demurrage charges, using computer or price list.Preferred QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.Fed-Ex or experience.1-2 years of related experience in a shipping and receiving department.Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data.Basic math and recording abilities.Great communication and interpersonal abilities.Forklift experience.MUST PASS a Pre-Employment Drug Screen and Background/Credit check.BenefitsHealth InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceSupplemental InsurancePaid Time Off (PTO)Paid HolidaysMultiple work-schedules availableOn job trainingCross-trainingOpportunities for advancementPhysical DemandsMust be able to stand, walk and lift for up to 8 hours daily.Vision abilities requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depthRequired to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 lbs. continually.May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Moderately loud noise levels in plant environment.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Job TypeFull-timeHourlySchedule8-hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayOvertime availableAbout VSR IndustriesVSR Industries has been a world leader for over 50 years in the casino gaming industries, manufacturing high security locks, custom fabricated sheet metal, and wood products.
