Job description
Shipping And Receiving ClerkThe Shipping And Receiving Clerk is responsible for assisting with all inbound and outbound freight, supplies and machinery. This position is also responsible for maintaining the crib. Must work closely with Accounting Department to assist with establishing and revising inventory procedures.Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through FridayPrimary Functions And ResponsibilitiesOrganize shipments of finished productsAssist with scheduling the pickup and delivery of materials for production including the pickup of recyclables; drive the hi/lo as neededAssist with ordering the proper quantities of shipping and shop suppliesVerify that shipments received quantities match those that are on the packing list or other shipping documents and receive into the systemLabel all incoming parts with job number, unit number and purchase order (PO) numbers, and stock on assigned shelvesTimely submittal of all receiving documents required to pay vendors to accountingAssist with periodic cycle countsAssist with maintaining accurate inventory locations in the systemWork with Purchasing and other manufacturing personnel on the timely return of unused materials from the job shelvesMaintain an up-to-date location map of all job shelves in cribTrack and report time spent on projects using timekeeping systemMust comply with all work rules, policies and procedures including safety rules and regulationsOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills And AbilitiesMust be able to manage multiple activities, meet deadlines and determine prioritiesMust be able to perform proper packaging and loading of trucksExperience with an integrated ERP system preferred; SAP preferredAbility to learn new software systemsFork truck experience and current fork truck licenseAbility to rig, sling and use overhead crane to lift work piecesAbility to work independently and in a team environmentMinimum Qualifications3+ years of relevant experience in shipping and receivingHigh school diploma or GED equivalentExperience using Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook (required), Excel (Basic level), Word (Basic level)Basic knowledge of an integrated ERP system, SAP preferredPhysical DemandsMust have adequate finger dexterity for writing and computer useThe position involves reading, writing, mathematics and measuringAbility to lift at least 50 pounds, and have the ability to climb, stand, stoop or kneel for extended periods of timeWork EnvironmentWork primarily is done in an office area using a computer, and sometimes equipment placed in his or her work area related to projects he or she is currently working onMay be expected to work on a manufacturing shop floor, which could involve exposure to hazardsWork surfaces may be slippery, uneven, or unstableShop temperatures may not always be controlled and could vary from hot to cold, depending on the season
