Job description
Shipping RoleThe Shipping role is critical to ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods from the warehouse to customers. This position involves coordinating shipping schedules, preparing shipping documentation, and verifying the accuracy of orders before dispatch. The role will work closely with warehouse staff, carriers, and logistics partners to maintain timely delivery and uphold quality standards. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to prevent errors and damage during transit. Ultimately, this role supports the overall supply chain by facilitating smooth and reliable shipping operations that meet customer expectations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Ensure a high level of customer service is always providedLoad and unload shipment in trucksLoad and inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specificationsTransfer materials from storage or work sites to the designated area by hand or using a hand truck, electric dolly, or forkliftInspect material handling equipment for defects, notify maintenance personnel or outside service facility for repairSort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence, such as size, type, or product code using a radio frequency gun (RF gun)Determine the location for retrieval of items using a radio frequency gun (RF gun)Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, shelves, bins, or other containersCompile records of unfilled orders; notify appropriate personnel of missing itemsAssemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or transfer orders to shipping departmentMaintain a clean and orderly shipping area and assist with warehouse and yardPerform other various duties, as outlined by supervisorExude, understand, and demonstrate actions according to the Company's core values. These core values are courage, commitment, collaboration, compassion, ownership, and optimismQualifications and Physical Requirements:High School Diploma or EquivalentWillingness to participate in pre-employment and random drug screenings6+ months related experienceAbility to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.Ability to safely drive a forkliftAbility to work in excessively hot and cold conditions due to outside environment of the warehouseOSHA regulated Steel Toe Shoes: Either an ASTM F243 M/I/50/C/50 or ANSI Z41 PT M/I/50/50.
