Shop HelperBigFoot Staffing is excited to offer this Temp-to-Hire Shop Helper position - Once you apply, we will reach out to you to schedule a time to talk more about this job.Starting Pay: $22.00 - $24.00/hrLocation: Clackamas, ORSchedule: Full-Time Hours, Monday - Friday, Day ShiftsPosition Description:This ideal Shop Helper candidate will be able to work independently and may lead jobs. This person may specialize and excel in one area of maintenance, but will also have a well-rounded understanding of facility and equipment maintenance in other areas. The person will take initiative to look past the task at hand and find potential or contributing issues in equipment or facility operations.Key Responsibilities:Observing all company safety rules and policies including LOTO, confined space, PPE, etc.Testing and evaluating machinery and equipment to diagnose causes of malfunctionRepairing, replacing, adjusting, and aligning components of machinery and equipmentPerform daily preventative maintenance on slingers and overhead cranes; adjusting crane brakesExamine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wearWeld broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipmentRecord repairs and maintenance performedRigging and overhead crane operation, lifting device use and inspection and load calculationsWilling to take classes provided by the company to improve your skills as needed or requestedOther duties may be assignedRequirements:Reliability and Punctuality is a mustLifting: The ability to lift, carry, or move objects of different weightsClimbing: The ability to climb stairs, ladders, or scaffoldsWorking in confined spaces: The ability to work in small spacesHearing: The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other soundsResponding to sounds: The ability to respond quickly to soundsWorking in different environments: The ability to work in hot or cold environments, on concrete floors, or in proximity to loud equipmentWearing personal protective gear: The ability to wear personal protective gear for most of the dayPreferred Qualifications:Ability to read and/or interpret mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic blueprints or schematicsUnderstanding of overhead crane troubleshooting and repairAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsDoes this sound like a position for you?
