A Shop Helper assists the team by maintaining a clean, well-organized work area and performing fabrication prep duties while learning the basics of many other positions in the shop.Key Responsibilities:Use a variety of battery and pneumatic hand tools including grinders, welder, drill, & hammer drillSandblastingPrep parts to be fabricated including wishing partsDrill holes and deburr partsUse welder to fabricate fittingsPaintingShop clean upOperate forkliftHelp in every department as neededDemonstrate safe working practices and standardsEmbody, demonstrate, and reinforce the #1ANDRITZway core values and behaviors and promote a positive work environmentOther duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma/GED3+ years of experience assisting in a shopCurrent forklift certificationWelding experienceGood construction knowledgeGood ability to use battery and pneumatic hand tools (grinder, drill, hammer drill, etc.)Good communication and organizational skills with a willingness to work with others; ability to interact professionally and positively with all levels of personnel in the companyDemonstrate qualities that support a safe working environmentMajority of work is performed in a warehouse and manufacturing shop environment; exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, forklifts, and electricity in the manufacturing areas, noise level is usually moderate to high Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; must have ability to use close vision, peripheral vision, and adjust focus; required to stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, crouch, walk, use hands and arms to reach for objects, carry, climb, balance, speak, and hearAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability.
