About the Role:
Southern Truck Equipment Inc is looking for an experienced and driven Shop Manager to lead our team in Almont, MI. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll oversee daily shop operations, keep projects moving, and ensure top-quality work is delivered every time. Responsibilities:
Oversee day‑to‑day shop operations, workflow, and production scheduling
Supervise, mentor, and manage shop technicians and support staff
Ensure quality control standards are met on all truck equipment installations and repairsarili> Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to meet project deadlines and customer expectations
Manage parts inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships
Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized shop environment
Troubleshoot technical issues and provide hands‑on guidance to technicians as needed
Requirements:
Proven experience in a shop management or lead technician role, preferably in truck equipment or automotive
Strong knowledge of truck upfitting, fabrication, or heavy equipment installation
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to read and interpret work orders, schematics, and technical documents
Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset
Valid driver's license required; CDL or relevant certifications a plus
