JobSummary:
TheShopManager/MasterMechanicisresponsibleforoverseeingthedailyoperationsoftheshop,ensuringthetimelyandefficientmaintenanceandrepairofheavyequipmentanddieseltrucks.Thisleadershiprolerequiresaseasonedprofessionalwithastrongbackgroundindieselmechanics,provenmanagementskills,andacommitmenttosafety,productivity,andcontinuousimprovement.
EssentialFunctions:
OwnershipandCaring: Leadandmanageateamoftechnicians,ensuringallworkiscompletedsafely,efficiently,andinalignmentwithcompanypoliciesandqualitystandards.Promoteacultureofaccountabilityandprideinworkmanship.
CompulsiveTinkering: Provideadvancedtechnicalsupportindiagnosingandrepairingheavyequipment,includingbulldozers,excavators,loaders,anddieseltrucks,asneededtosupportteamperformance.
Focused: Ensureregularinspectionsandpreventivemaintenanceschedulesarecarriedouteffectivelytominimizedowntimeandextendequipmentlife.
Measurement: Managepartsandmaterialsinventory,overseeprocurementprocesses,andmaintainoptimalstocklevelstosupporttimelyrepairsandminimizedelays.
ResultsMatter: Recruit,train,andmentortechnicians,fosteringgrowthandcontinuouslearningwithintheteam.Conductregularperformanceevaluationsandprovideconstructivefeedback.

Requirements,EducationandExperience:
Highschooldiplomaorequivalentrequired.Associate’sorBachelor’sdegreeinDieselTechnology,BusinessManagement,orarelatedfieldstronglypreferred.
Minimumof7–10yearsofprogressiveexperienceindieselmechanicsandheavyequipmentmaintenance,includingatleast3–5yearsinamanagerialorseniorsupervisoryrolewithinashoporfleetmaintenanceenvironment.
Demonstratedexperienceoverseeingteams,managingworkflow,andaligningshopoperationswithbusinesspriorities.
Deepknowledgeofheavyequipmentsystems,diagnostics,andrepairtechniques.
Proficientinusingdiagnosticandshopmanagementsoftware.
Experiencemanagingmaintenanceschedules,partsprocurement,andvendorrelationships.
Strongleadershipcapabilitieswithaprovenabilitytomanagebudgets,laborplanning,inventorycontrols,andperformancemetrics.
Trackrecordofmentoringteams,leadingthroughchange,anddrivingcontinuousimprovement.
Excellentcommunicationskills,withtheabilitytocollaborateeffectivelyacrossdepartmentsincludingoperations,safety,procurement,andfinance.
Validdriver’slicenseandcleandrivingrecord.
Willingnesstoworkflexiblehoursorweekendswhenoperationallyrequired.

Thispositionrequirestheabilitytostand,walkandliftheavyobjectsweighingupto50lbs.ormoreforextendedperiods.Italsoinvolvesworkinginashopenvironmentwithexposuretovariousweatherconditionsandloudnoises.Candidatesmusthavesufficientphysicalstrength,visualandauditoryacuity,andprecisehand-eyecoordinationforhandlingtools,equipment,andsmallcomponentsduringrepairsandmaintenancetasks.Othermanualtasksincludebending,stooping,reaching,andclimbingontoplatformsandladders,whileadheringtosafetyprotocols.
