Shop Manager | Traverse City, MI
Salary Range: $82,000 - $127,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We partner with manufacturers across Traverse City seeking Shop Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily production schedules and resource allocation to meet manufacturing targets.
Manage and mentor shop floor personnel, including performance reviews and training.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality control standards.
Implement and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, coordinating with supply chain.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with engineering and design teams on new product introductions.
Prepare production reports and analyze performance metrics for management review.
Recommended Qualifications
5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Proven ability to manage and motivate a team of skilled technicians.
Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Demonstrated experience with production scheduling, quality control, and inventory management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with all levels of the organization.
Technical proficiency in relevant machinery and tooling used in the manufacturing process.
