Position Summary
Seeking a Shop Service Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of heavy construction equipment in a shop environment. This role will support both company-owned and customer-owned equipment while performing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical repairs. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, heavy equipment experience, and a commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair construction equipment including cranes, lifts, bulldozers, and other heavy machinery.
Perform mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical repairs and maintenance.
Conduct preventative maintenance and equipment inspections to ensure optimal performance.
Utilize diagnostic software, laptops, gauges, and testing equipment to identify equipment issues.
Read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and technical documentation.
Complete service reports, work orders, and repair documentation while maintaining OSHA safety standards.
Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
Experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment or construction equipment.
Proficiency with laptop-based diagnostics and Microsoft Office.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and service manuals.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Basic welding skills and familiarity with common shop tools.
Customer-focused attitude with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Preferred Qualifications Experience working on Liebherr, Roadtec, Gomaco, Manitowoc, or Grove equipment.
Experience with cranes, lifts, earthmoving equipment, and paving equipment.
Knowledge of OEM repair procedures and equipment diagnostics.
Experience performing hydraulic and electrical system repairs.
