Shop Operations ManagerThe Shop Operations Manager supports the Service Manager in coordinating and directing the workload of the Service Department for maximum efficiency and productivity while providing quality repair work for Mid Ag, Small Tractor, Turf and Utility, and Compact Construction Equipment. Provides input on skill development and training needs for the technicians.Responsibilities:Monitors Service Department metrics monthly to ensure achievement of department goalsProvides performance feedback for service technicians and staff to the Service ManagerOversees and directs the shop technicians in scheduling work and performanceDirects and assists technicians in the diagnosis of Mid Ag, Small Tractor, Turf and Utility, and Compact Construction EquipmentAssists in the quoting of repair orders coming into the Service Department and reviews repair orders for accuracy and completenessReviews and explains any maintenance, repair, or other service concerns directly with the customer and documents on work orderMay approve the release of equipment for delivery to the customerOpens work orders as directed by the Service Manager and maintains control until closed and invoicedFields internal and external customer inquiries to the Service DepartmentAttends schooling and seminars as directed by managementPerforms complex diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and/or turf equipmentCharges out at least 50% of their laborMay participate in required Service Educate Training programsSupports customer clinicsMay promote and sell dealer service programs directly to customersMaintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive productsMaintains condition of mobile service vehicle, trailer, inventory, tools and equipment, ensuring all are in good working orderMaintains a safe working environment and adheres to company safety program at all timesPerforms other duties as assignedRequirements:Minimum of 3 years of experience in Service Department operationsProficient in using standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet-based toolsStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage both individuals and groupsKnowledgeable about John Deere products and competitive brandsBasic understanding of financial principles related to Service Department operationsSkilled in analyzing and interpreting internal reportsFlexibility to work extended hours and weekends as neededExcellent customer service abilities, with a focus on meeting client needsAssociate degree or equivalent work experiencePay Range: $27.00 - $32.00 per hourBenefits: We offer a competitive wage and benefit package including health, dental, vision, life, disability, accident, and critical illness insurance along with paid time off, 401(k), cell phone allowance, safety item reimbursements, AHW branded clothing, and training.
